Wrestle

The best sports documentaries are never really about the sport. Wrestle is about four kids in their last year of high school, on a team that won't exist next season.

Jailen, Jamario, Teague and Jaquan wrestle for Chris Scribner, a young teacher who has been through his own struggles with addiction and pushes them hard towards the state finals. He wants the title for them more than they seem to want it for themselves. Practice is the one place in their week that runs to a plan.

Everywhere else, life is arriving faster than they can handle it. Jamario is about to become a father. Jaquan is facing drug charges, Jailen is trying to hold his family together while carrying the team's best hopes. Their school in Huntsville, Alabama is closing at the end of the year, so whatever this season turns into, nobody gets to run it back.
